My Son, the Soldier

My oldest son, David, receiving his battlefield promotion to Sergeant in Germany - earned during his time in Iraq.  He heads home to Colorado Saturday, February 6 to move his family to Texas.  I am so excited that he will be stationed back in the states.  If you have a comment for David I will forward it to him.  We all salute you David, and your willingness to defend your family and our country.

  1. Thank you David! Being good friends with your mom I can feel the same kind of pride in you that she does. I can't tell you how much it means to my husband and I that there are men like you protecting all of us at home. God Bless you and your family. Best wishes for your next adventure in Texas! Sincerely, Bonnie Relford.

Thank you for sharing pictures of him getting his medal. Pass on to David: Thank you so much David for defending our Country, may God keep you safe. Love Always Aunt Carol.

  5. I stopped by your blog to see your quilting projects, but it is an honor to take a moment to comment about your son. As a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to four children, I don't take for granted one bit the freedom and security that I am privileged to enjoy with my kids. We are blessed, so truly blessed, to lead the lives we do thanks to men like your son. We truly need to stay mindful of the sacrifices they make, and continually pray for their safety and well being.

What a proud Mom you can be!

I hope your son and his family enjoy coming to Texas. This is a great place to live, and I hope the transition is a smooth one!

  7. Oh it will be good for you to have him here back on American soil but I have a feeling they will be missing Germany. :0) We lived there three years and loved it. Enjoy your day with Carol on Saturday...I'm envious she has a sister with common interest!!

  12. Oh, thank your son for me, for his willingness to put his life at risk for his countrymen and women.

My son-in-law, my daughter and my grandkids just moved back to Oklahoma from Germany, this past February. Isn't it wonderful to know that they're back on American soil.
